What I'm Reading

We need to talk about Kevin by Lionel Shriver

We Need To Talk About Kevin packshot
I read several works of fiction while on my recent trip to South Africa. One was We need to talk about Kevin by Lionel Shriver. It was gripping, but enough to put anyone off risking having a child, as Kevin is possibly the nastiest fictional child/boy. Compelling, horrific and very disturbing. And you won't forget it in a hurry.

Before I go to Sleep by SJ Watson is equally compelling, but less disturbing. A story of a woman with amnesia who wakes up each morning and has to be told who she is and her history. I enjoyed it very much, it was well written and pacy, but I knew from the start how it was going to end.
